Gamescom 2011 – Sony/SCEE Press Conference Today

Most people know of the Electronic Entertainment Expo(E3) which is held in America every year, well Europe has its very own event, held in Germany, known as Gamescom, here is a little information from Wikipedia:

Gamescom is a trade fair for video games held annually at the Koelnmesse in Cologne, Germany. It is organised by the Bundesverband Interaktive Unterhaltungssoftware (German Federal Association of Interactive Entertainment Software). It is used by many video game developers to show off their upcoming games and game-related hardware.
Gamescom is the world’s largest games event with 254,000 visitors, more than 4,400 journalists and 505 exhibitors from 33 countries attending the show in its second year.
Now for the time and where you can watch the live stream:
  • Facebook Live Stream Here(click for link)
  • On PS Home
  • The PS Blog
  • Or the official PS3 App for Android and iPhone(Click link to download either version)
Now the times are a bit confusing, the official PS Blog states this:

Tuesday 16 August 2011 at 19:00 CET / 18:00 BST / 03:00 Sydney (Wed)

When the official Facebook page states 18:40 CET(Germany), which would be 17:40 BST(UK)
EDIT:
A quote from the US PS Blog:

Guten tag from Cologne, Germany, home of gamescom! The motto for 2011′s gamescom is “Celebrate the Games,” and we’re about to do that beginning with the Sony Computer Entertainment Europe press conference. The presser kicks off at 7pm local time, which is 1pm Eastern and 10am Pacific.
A note while you’re watching* today: much like E3 is targeted to the US audience and Tokyo Game Show is targeted at Japan, the gamescom press conference is primarily aimed at European gamers, so please keep that in mind as you watch. Not everything mentioned or shown today will necessarily apply to those of us in North America. We’ll post on all appropriate things for the North American market, however, just as we always do.
So with that in mind, press Play in the video screen below, sit back and see the future of PlayStation as laid out by SCEE CEO and President Andrew House.

UPDATE 1:

Sony conference is over, the biggest PS3 related news was a price drop on PS3s to $249/249 euros.
